Did you know that you can claim tax allowances on integral fixtures & fittings?

If you buy a commercial building either for use in your own business or for rental purposes then you can claim tax allowances on items such as lifts, toilets, lighting, central heating systems, cold water systems etc etc. You can even claim allowances for door risers and lever type door handles-this may seem minor but can soon mount up if you have lots of doors. The claim can be made even if you have paid a global price for the building with no reference to integral fixtures & fittings which is normally the case. This potential claim is often missed by accountants.
